Sitter service
“Sitter Service”, combats the problem faced by many, of trying to balance work or education and childcare, by providing flexible, professional childcare support in the child’s own home.
Sitter Services now operates throughout Highland. This is a totally new service to this area and allows minimum disruption to the children’s routine whilst parents access education and training opportunities and maintain or return to employment.
Sitters are available between the hours of 7am and 10:30pm, to care for children aged 6 weeks to 16 years, in their own homes on a regular basis. The sitters follow the family’s normal routines; including picking up/dropping off to school, childminder and activities such as Scouts or Brownies as well as providing quality play activities for the children in their care. This is an ideal solution if a parent needs to leave the house early, or not return until late.
Direct Childcare is registered with and complies with all regulations as laid down by the Care Commission, and all sitters are suitably trained and have undergone the relevant health, safety and disclosure checks.
Currently, the hourly rate for a sitter is £14 for up to 4 children, however, parents who are eligible for Working Tax Credits may be able to claim up to 80% of their childcare costs. Contact www.inlandrevenue.gov.uk/taxcredits
